Kindle readerNow that we have the new Kindle releases with us it is time for a Kindle compare guide. We now have 4 models to chose from so we are certainly not short of options. But if we compare Kindles we will have a better idea of what we can buy that will be ideal for us.

Comparison Of Kindle Models

Firstly let’s talk about the Kindle Fire.

This really is all on its own. The other versions can be compared to each other in terms of size, book storage and battery life to name but a few, but the Kindle Fire tablet is a thing apart.

Although it bears the name “Kindle” it is, at heart, a Tablet. There are many other tablets out there to choose from so really it needs to be compared to them.

Firstly what is the Kindle Fire?

It is a multimedia tablet. It means that it is full color, has a touch screen and the whole thing is extremely tough. Here are a few key points:

  • Use to read Kindle books in color
  • Buy music from the Amazon MP3 store
  • Watch movies. Either by streaming or downloading
  • Use the new Amazon Silk browser to surf the Web at record speed
  • Backup all your books, movies and audio in the cloud for free
  • use apps
  • integrate email accounts

This makes it the pretty much the perfect multimedia tablet. On top of this we are also able to carry it easily as it is only 7 inches.

We also get a free month of the Amazon Prime service so we get access to 10,000 movies and tv shows. Then for a low monthly yearly fee we can continue with this service.

If you want a Tablet to read Kindle books in color and have the convenience of a touch screen as well then this is about the best there is.

It compares so favorably to other Tablets as it is so well integrated with Amazon. The low price pretty much ensures that it is the best deal on the market.

Kindle 4 vs Kindle 3

The accepted term Kindle 4 is now related to the smaller of the new Kindle releases. It differs in a number of ways, but primarily it is the removal of the button based keyboard. It means that it can be lighter than the Kindle 3 without losing the screen size. Here are the key features:

  • Same 6 inch screen size
  • 30% lighter
  • Borrow books from the library
  • MUCH cheaper

We navigate with some simple buttons at the bottom of the kindle. It makes it lighter than the Kindle 3 but just as easy to use. If we want the keyboard then a virtual one pops up on the screen.

The low starting price that is ad supported makes it an amazing deal. But it is wi-fi only, no 3g.

Kindle 4 vs Kindle Touch

The Kindle touch comparison really hinges on the implementation of the touch screen. Again, we can have a virtual keyboard if we wish. But the touch screen makes it very easy to navigate. And a lot more of us are now used to a touch screen, I know that when I first used the Kindle 3 I went to move on a page by touching the screen, not a lot happened as you can imagine!

Other key features:

  • 3g or wi-fi option
  • 8% lighter than the kindle 3
  • Much easier to use
  • Holds 3,000 books

Best Kindle To Buy

The Kindle touch compared to other Kindles certainly has our vote. If you do not need the color and multi-media options of the Kindle Fire then this is the one that has our vote. Touch screen technology simply makes life that little bit easier.

The low price point is supported by ads again and as they are only screen-savers and we do not see them when reading then, for us, it is not a problem. But we can just buy the slightly more expensive option if we want no ads at all.

New Amazon Kindle Tablet

The new Amazon Kindle Tablet is without doubt the most amazing device we have ever seen. The Kindle tablet price, at $199 is simply impossible to believe, less than half the cost of the iPad 2!

The new Amazon Tablet is officially called the Kindle Fire. 7 inch, amazing color screen and so tough you would need an elephant to damage it and we are not even sure that would work!

You can choose from basically an endless number of free and paid apps and you get a free paid one every day.

If you haven’t heard of Amazon Prime then you will once you buy the Kindle Fire. You get it free for a month and it gives free shipping on orders but that is just the beginning.

You get to have instant streaming of videos, a choice of over 10,000.  Plus you can buy or rent over 100,000 titles. All our favorite games are there.

Plus we can read magazine subscriptions in full color as they are intended to be read. And of course we can read books from our favorite authors too.

17 million songs are available from the MP3 store. You can either download them to the Kindle or stream live.

Kindle Tablet MP3 Player

Basically we have a fully featured tablet made from the ground up by Amazon at a price so low it is impossible to resist. This is an amazing device that fulfills all your multimedia needs at a crazy discounted deal that is going to make it the bestselling tablet ever.

Below were our musings long before any of the new releases were announced:

It seems that the rumors never end when it comes to the new Amazon Kindle tablet. Although we did believe it was to be released by August it now seems that October is the expected release date for the Kindle tablet.

Let’s hope so anyway.

Online rumors have also been suggesting that Amazon may be introducing new names for the Kindle.  One site let us know that kindlewave.com and kindlescribe.com were picked up by Amazon after the registrations expired. This may just be a diversionary tactic by Amazon but it may also be that the names may factor in the upcoming Kindle and tablet release that are now expected very soon, as long as the current rumors are true.

Amazon Kindle

As with the Kindle reader, the Kindle 4, and the Amazon tablet we will simply have to wait until a definite date is given by Amazon, but hopefully it really will not be long now.

What we can expect from the new Kindle tablet is hard to know really. This is because there are going to be a number of release and the new Kindle may or may not be a tablet in the strictest sense. It may just be an update reader or it may be the name of a new Amazon tablet that will be sold in conjunction with the regular Kindle e-book reader.

At least there is now not long left to wait until we actually get to see what really will be released this year.

Kindle Tablet

UPDATE: In the last few days there have been a number of leaks about the new Kindle tablet. Techcrunch managed to get their hands on a prototype of the first release and it is set to simply be called the Amazon Kindle. Here are a few key features:

  • Touch screen
  • Full color
  • Free Amazon Prime, which means free 2 day shipping and free instant streaming of video
  • 7 inch display
  • Price around $250

The free video streaming is going to be a major reason why people buy and although it does seem odd that the name will just be the Amazon Kindle we should find that as soon as it is available it will sell in huge numbers.

The only shame is that once again the release is changing and it now seems as if November is going to be the earliest release date.

Kindle Reader New Version

The Kindle reader new version is now available. Or really we should say new Kindle reader versions. We have 2 new readers as well as a Kindle Tablet, the Kindle Fire. You can read about the Kindle Fire here, in this article we will take a look at the two new Kindle readers.

At the top of the page you can use the links to read more information about each option but we will do a quick re-cap of just what the new releases actually are. One thing is for sure and that is that the prices are incredible, we couldn’t quite believe it actually.

Kindle 4

The Kindle 4 is what is now the common name for the smaller new Kindle. It no longer has a keypad, just navigation buttons as you can see in the left hand image. At $79 for the ad supported option sales are through the roof. This is a perfect option for anyone that wants a device that can fit in pockets and to take basically everywhere. 6 oz makes it so light you won’t even know it is there.

1 month battery life and the ability to store 1500 books makes it incredible value.

Not to say the the Kindle Touch reader isn’t amazing too.

Kindle Touch Reader

The Kindle Touch reader takes us a step further. Still an amazing deal at $99 for the ad supported version it has a 2 month batter life and can store 3,000 books!

We simply use the screen to navigate back and forth or to go to the home menu. We can buy ad or non-ad supported formats and there is a choice of wi-fi only or wi-fi and 3G.

As usual there have been even more rumors of late about just what the Kindle Reader new version is going to be and when it is going to be released. Although not so long ago we did believe that the new version Kindle reader and Kindle tablet was going to be out by August it now seems that the date has changed somewhat and we may now be looking at an October release if we are lucky.

If anything is heard then you will certainly be the first to know.

So, what is the latest on what we can expect?

New Version Kindle Reader

It is now very likely that the new version of the Kindle is going to come with at least a partial touch screen. Just enough to make some simple navigation very fast and efficient. This is actually about all that we will need, a simple touch screen navigation bar, although for many the opportunity to have a popup touch screen for typing would be very welcome as well.

But we are going to have to wait just a little longer to see what the exact specs are going to be, Amazon are keeping very tight-lipped about the whole thing, which is actually hardly surprising is it?

We all love how light the Kindle reader is so we don’t want too much in the way of gimmicks that can add weight to the device and a small addition of a touch screen section is not going to make much difference. Color may still be an option although it is now seeming more and more likely that this is going to be a part of the new Amazon tablet release this year.

Kindle Touch Screen

Kindle touchThe Kindle touchscreen or Kindle touch is now available. And boy is it amazing. Starting at an incredible price of just $99 it is too good an opportunity to miss out on.

There are a coupe of key features that are worth pointing out:

  • Amazing price
  • Full touch screen

  • Stores 3000 books
  • You can borrow books from the library!

The screen works amazingly well.  A touch on the left takes you back a page, the right takes you to the next page and a touch at the top takes you to the menu.

We also have a touch screen keyboard too.

We can choose from a Kindle touch wi-fi version or one with the addition of 3G as well, perfect for those that like to buy books on the move.

With all new features and the low starting price this is definitely an amazing new release.

The new Kindle touch features also includes lots of information on real life characters and events mentioned.

You can even borrow books from the library now as well. All in all it is an incredible new release that makes reading a total joy.

An Amazon Kindle touch screen is now a definite, and this is going to be great. The Kindle 4 is going to be a Kindle touchscreen and the price is set to be one of the lowest ever. From what we can gather touch screens are already being produced by a number of different suppliers for Amazon and the smaller screens are due to be shipped this Summer.

New Kindle

New KindleThat’s right the new Kindle is finally here. In fact there are 3 new Kindles now available. Sales have been huge and there is pretty much a choice for everyone. The new Kindles are very advanced and a major upgrade from the previous model.

New Kindle 4

With the new Kindle 4 we have a slightly smaller Kindle that is so cheap it is almost irresistible. $79, no keyboard, just navigation buttons, but that is all that we really need. We can store 1500 books and have a battery life of a month.

Kindle Touch

2 months of battery life for the new Kindle touch and the ability to store 3000 books. As with the cheaper model we can also borrow books from the library which is a great addition.

Both models come at the discount price if we opt to have ads on them. They only show as screensavers though, not on the pages when we are reading. With the Kindle Touch we can also pick from either just wi-fi or from wi-fi and 3G.

New Kindle Fire

The new Kindle Fire is a tablet. Full color, full touch screen and 7 inch. We can buy or rent movies, use Amazon Prime to get over 10,000 movies for free and chose from 17 million songs in the MP3 store.

We can also read books in color, magazines, and even children’s books too. Plus a free app a day and the App store as well. Play games, import all email accounts and thanks to the new Silk browser the speed is amazing.

Below is our original conjecture on what the new Kindle was going to be. We didn’t get it quite right!

The Kindle reader is definitely about the best there is when it comes to e-book readers and the new Kindle 2011 is set to cement this even further. The Kindle 4 is set to be released in 2011 and if recent online rumors are anything to go by then we should see it released around August time. So, great news for everyone wondering when the new Kindle reader will be released.

Let’s take a look at what we can expect once we are all finally able to get the new Kindle.

New Kindle Features

One thing is for sure and that is that we are going to get a color option.  A color Kindle is now a certainty as this is what most people want to make it just about perfect. This is going to open up a whole new world of usability. We can subscribe to our favorite magazines, students can use the Kindle for study where color is important and is a part of their text books.

And what about reading a bed time story with the children? Color children’s books on the Kindle would be great.

This also now seems really rather likely. With Amazon releasing tablets this year we may well find that the cheaper of the two releases is actually going to be what we will be calling the “New Kindle”.

Not everyone is as concerned about this part of the set-up but it does seem very likely that a Kindle touchscreen is going to be an option.

Kindle With Full Internet Access

If we do get a tablet as the new Kindle then it is going to offer up full Internet access in roughly the same way as the iPad 2 has. It seems that the operating system is going to be very much similar Safari as far as connecting to the Internet is concerned so this is great news.

A fully interactive new Kindle 4 is certainly going to make it more popular than even the Kindle 3 so we really are in for a great release.

Of course, so far this is still all just speculation, we need to wait a little longer to finally see what we actually get, but luckily it won’t be long now. This is now a little outdated. The Kindle 4 release date has now passed. You can now either buy or pre-order the new Kindles via our links at the top of the page.

We have been getting a lot of information that seems to confirm that he Kindle 4 release date is due at some point around September. And this means that finally the wait is almost over. With rumors of a new Amazon tablet, actually 2, also due out this year, it is certainly going to offer us a lot of options. The Kindle reader is still going to be what a lot of people choose though, even if a tablet is available.

For portability and for simply reading in the easiest possible manner the Kindle is always going to be the best.

What We Can Expect

We are going to see a color Kindle option for the new Kindle, there is no doubt about that, and a Kindle touch too, and if we want to be the first to own it then we need to get on the pre-release order list. Use the form top right to be the first to know.

A color screen is going to allow us to read more than just books, magazines and even a bed-time story with the children are going to make the new Kindle 4 release much anticipated.

We are sure to see sales figures the highest that they have ever been with the color Kindle release. New Kindle 2011

The following was written before we had these new options and as you can see we did not get it exactly right.

The Kindle reader has certainly given rise to a lot of speculation. The new Kindle 2011 is still set to be available at some point this year and from what we can gather it still seems most likely that it is going to be available from September onwards. Use the form top right to be notified of the pre-release and be the first to own the new Kindle.The Kindle 4, color Kindle or Amazon tablet have all been talked about incessantly with people trying to discover just what it is that we will get.

But, as with previous releases, the new Kindle 2011 release dated and specs are being kept firmly under wraps.

But what does seem very likely is that this year will see 2 releases from Amazon.

Kindle Release 2011

We are, in all probability going to see an improved Kindle 3 which is going to simply be known as the Kindle 4. The expectations are that this will have a color screen to open up the market for periodicals and even color children’s books.

This makes total sense as it will broaden the market. The Kindle 4 will then see sales for parents wanting to read bed-time stores from favorite illustrated books, and students who rely on color charts as a part of their studies.

New Kindle Tablet 2011

We are also going to see an Amazon tablet release if all the many rumors are to be believed. There has been a lot of talk of late about this release and many are eagerly anticipating a release that can be a real alternative to the apple iPad 2.

We have been hearing about the screen resolution and the fact that it is going to be a real marked improvement on the iPad 2. This certainly makes total sense as with Amazon’s video streaming service becoming more popular by the day if they release a Kindle tablet that can cope with HD video, and video that can be accessed instantly it is certainly going to be very real competition for apple.

And this is very likely to be released this year as well. 2 Kindle related releases is going to see a lot of people unsure just what to buy, but many will be buying both. A tablet for video on demand in HD or Blu-Ray and a color Kindle for reading in the most convenient way possible.

This is an amazing tablet that is selling in crazy numbers. Touch screen, wi-fi, full color for reading color Kindle books or magazines, not to mention children’s color books. Apps, free and paid for, a free month of Amazon Prime for free video streaming on demand.

We can also buy movies to watch on it or rent them, not to mention music, games and so much more. This is an incredible multi-function device that is going to be the most popular tablet in the world. Less than half the price of the iPad and with more features this is almost a must have for every home.

It is by far the most beautiful Kindle and the amount of functions it has are incredible.

It can be used for live video streaming of movies or we can buy or rent movies and tv shows as well. Use the Internet and even import all our emails accounts. A new color Kindle reader is set to be here this year according to many sources online. With news leaked that Quanta, a Taiwanese manufacturer is involved, it will be either a Kindle tablet i.e the Amazon Tablet or at the very least a new color Kindle 4 there is certainly a lot of excitement about the new Kindle reader.

As of yet there is no firm news as to exactly what is going to be produced but you can be sure that you will hear it here first. We are keeping our ear very firmly to the ground and from what we hear there is certainly going to be no doubt that a new Amazon tablet may well be what we are going to see, whether this will be called the Kindle 4 color model or not we simply do not know.

With many people looking for a release that includes a new touch screen as well as a Kindle color display option it really does seem very likely indeed that a Kindle laptop is in the making, but a single tablet akin to the iPad 2 rather than something that is more traditional in design.

There is definitely going to be something this year and if the rumors are to be believed then it is going to be here at some time in September.

From what we understand there is little doubt that the price is going to be amazingly low. If it is a release similar to the iPad 2 then we are going to be able to buy for a fraction of the cost. Amazon may well incorporate adverts as an option like they have just done for the Kindle 3. It will make the price incredibly low.

But even without this option Amazon are going to sell at a loss, just like they do with the current Kindle so that the money is actually made from sales of e-books, apps and encouraging people to sign up for Amazon Prime to receive free video and audio and demand. And you can bet that we will be at the front of the queue. It is going to be an exciting year, there is no doubt about that.

Kindle 4

Kindle 4The new Kindle 4 is now with us, and it is amazing!

It is actually a little confusing as there are a number of new Kindles available to buy but the general consensus is that the smaller version is the Kindle 4. This is a great model that has no keyboard but still manages to be 6 inches and super light at just 6 ounces.

We get a month of battery life and can store 1500 books. The Kindle touch is also available and this has double the book capacity and battery life as well.

AND we have the incredible Kindle Fire too, the tablet. All are available via our links at the top of he page. Don’t delay though, they are all being sold and shipped on a first come first served basis and are selling in very high numbers indeed.

It is hard for use to say which is best for you, it really depends o what you want out of your new Kindle 4. If you just want to be able to read in the most convenient way then the small Kindle 4 is ideal. Personally we love the Kindle touch as it is that much easier to use, but the Kindle Fire is a real temptation. Apps, video on demand, full color reading for books, magazines and more.

We can play games, have access to over 17 million songs and it is a full touch screen too. Very durable and with full Internet access we even get a 1 month free trial of Amazon Prime. Use the links at the top of our page and read about them all in more detail, what a decision to make.

Below are our thoughts before the releases actually happened, left for the sake of posterity.

With the Kindle 4 due out in 2011, as well as a new Amazon Tablet PC too, this is certainly going to be an interesting year. The Kindle 4 specs are still tightly under wraps and with different news coming out daily it is hard to know exactly what to believe. Will it be a color Kindle, a Kindle touch or will the new Kindle reader actually be the much anticipated Amazon tablet that is due this Summer? Only time will tell.

New Kindle 2011

There is no doubt though that the new Kindle 2011 is going to sell in massive numbers. Anyone who has had experience of previous models knows that this is by far the best e-book reader currently available so we can only guess how much improved the new Kindle 4 is going to be.

There really does seem like we are, in all likelihood going to get a dual release this year. A tablet PC or Amazon Laptop to take on apple and the iPad 2 and hopefully at least a color Kindle 4 option too. But we are going to have to wait and see just what rumors are actually true.

Kindle 4 Release Date

With strong rumors that he tablet laptop is going to be here by late Summer there is actually less news about he Kindle 4 release date than the leaked news of the new Kindle release date. But all signs point to at least a September release, just as we could get the Kindle 3 around this time in 2010.

It is certainly exciting and waiting for the Kindle color release date has certainly got a lot of people hot under the collar. Let’s just hope that it is a color option, although it does seem almost guaranteed that this will be one of the additions, along with speculation of more, like a touch screen, although that many simply be a part of the actual Amazon tablet and not the Kindle 4.
