Now that we have the new Kindle releases with us it is time for a Kindle compare guide. We now have 4 models to chose from so we are certainly not short of options. But if we compare Kindles we will have a better idea of what we can buy that will be ideal for us.

Firstly let’s talk about the Kindle Fire.

This really is all on its own. The other versions can be compared to each other in terms of size, book storage and battery life to name but a few, but the Kindle Fire tablet is a thing apart.

Although it bears the name “Kindle” it is, at heart, a Tablet. There are many other tablets out there to choose from so really it needs to be compared to them.

Firstly what is the Kindle Fire?

It is a multimedia tablet. It means that it is full color, has a touch screen and the whole thing is extremely tough. Here are a few key points:

This makes it the pretty much the perfect multimedia tablet. On top of this we are also able to carry it easily as it is only 7 inches.

We also get a free month of the Amazon Prime service so we get access to 10,000 movies and tv shows. Then for a low monthly yearly fee we can continue with this service.

If you want a Tablet to read Kindle books in color and have the convenience of a touch screen as well then this is about the best there is.

It compares so favorably to other Tablets as it is so well integrated with Amazon. The low price pretty much ensures that it is the best deal on the market.

Kindle 4 vs Kindle 3

The accepted term Kindle 4 is now related to the smaller of the new Kindle releases. It differs in a number of ways, but primarily it is the removal of the button based keyboard. It means that it can be lighter than the Kindle 3 without losing the screen size. Here are the key features:

• Same 6 inch screen size
• 30% lighter
• Borrow books from the library
• MUCH cheaper

We navigate with some simple buttons at the bottom of the kindle. It makes it lighter than the Kindle 3 but just as easy to use. If we want the keyboard then a virtual one pops up on the screen.

The low starting price that is ad supported makes it an amazing deal. But it is wi-fi only, no 3g.

Kindle 4 vs Kindle Touch

The Kindle touch comparison really hinges on the implementation of the touch screen. Again, we can have a virtual keyboard if we wish. But the touch screen makes it very easy to navigate. And a lot more of us are now used to a touch screen, I know that when I first used the Kindle 3 I went to move on a page by touching the screen, not a lot happened as you can imagine!

Best Kindle To Buy

The Kindle touch compared to other Kindles certainly has our vote. If you do not need the color and multi-media options of the Kindle Fire then this is the one that has our vote. Touch screen technology simply makes life that little bit easier.

The low price point is supported by ads again and as they are only screen-savers and we do not see them when reading then, for us, it is not a problem. But we can just buy the slightly more expensive option if we want no ads at all.
